  • Learner training worksheets give students the skills to study vocabulary independently, even after the course is finished. Print-out automatically generated tests covering learned words.
  • An email tutor mentoring system offers progress reports, advice and encouragement to motivate users.
  • The flexible course schedule allows learners to fit studying into their busy schedules.
  • Word Stream's extensive database of words can generate multiple courses, so that students can continue learning new vocabulary for as long as they want to.

Study flow

  • Study Zone
The Study Zone focuses on teaching a topic of 10 words. Clear explanations in English and the learner's own language help students understand what a word means, how to write it, how to say it and how to use it. Learners then experiment using the new words before being given a quick test at the end of the lesson to show what they have learned.

  • Review Zone
The Review Zone becomes accessible a certain period of time after learners have studied a word. This time difference improves recall. Learners practice the meaning, spelling and pronunciation of words using a variety of engaging, interactive activities.

  • Test Zone
The Test Zone offers weekly Progress Tests to evaluate which words a learner knows. Words that users do not know are sent to a Problem Wordlist where they are regularly tested.

  • Final Tests
The course finishes with a series of Final Tests which assess all the vocabulary studied on the course.

  • Completion
    Print your course completion certificate.
