Features of the courses
Written by medical experts, the courses cover a total of 24 specialist categories of vocabulary, and are designed to help communication and understanding in a profession where accuracy is of paramount importance. A combination of specialist text and audio is used along with the unique learning components of Word Stream to provide courses that are both challenging and rewarding.
Target audience
Designed not only for medical students, but also for professionals who might need to improve their English for communication with foreign patients or interaction at international conferences.
Study period
Each course takes at least 12 weeks (three months) to complete. It may take longer than 12 weeks to complete if you study less than the recommended study time.
The recommended study time for a regular Word Stream course is about three hours per week. This includes review of previous words and progress tests etc.
System requirements
A PC which can be connected to the Internet (broadband connection recommended). Microsoft OS (Windows 2000, XP, Vista), Internet Explorer version 6 or above, the most recent version of Flash Player, Adobe Reader version 5 or above
